Everton's expected next fixtures after Premier League decision made

Everton's wait to record their first Premier League win of the season will go on after Frank Lampard's side were denied the opportunity of taking on Arsenal away from home this weekend.

It was announced on Friday afternoon that football at all levels was to be suspended in the United Kingdom as a show of respect following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. There are also doubts over whether next week's game will be played, meaning the Blues could be waiting until October to take part in their next league contest.

This break in play could allow Frank Lampard to continue working with his players on the training pitch, as well as enabling Dominic Calvert-Lewin to continue working his way back to full fitness. Below is how the Blues' fixture list could look like in the coming weeks.

Arsenal vs Everton, September 11 - Cancelled

A trip to north London was due to be on the agenda on Sunday afternoon against an in-form Arsenal side, though this will no longer take place.

A Premier League statement has since been released to explain how this verdict was reached. The message from yesterday read: "At a meeting this morning, Premier League clubs paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

"To honour her extraordinary life and contribution to the nation, and as a mark of respect, this weekend’s Premier League match round will be postponed, including Monday evening’s game."

Everton vs West Ham, September 18 - In doubt

As well as missing out on a trip to the capital, Everton's home meeting with West Ham could also be called off. The state funeral of the Queen is expected to take place next Monday, with a large police presence expected in the capital for the sheer scale of the event. This has therefore led to questions regarding the availability of police officers at Premier League games for the round of fixtures set to take place next week. A final decision on whether this will be the case is yet to be announced.

Southampton vs Everton, October 1 - Expected to be played

Everton's next Premier League match may not arrive until October 1 as an international break is scheduled to occur the day after the club's proposed meeting with the Hammers . It sees the Blues travel to the south coast to face Southampton and is not anticipated to be called off at this stage.

Everton vs Manchester United, October 9 - Expected to be played

The following week marks a return to Goodison Park for the Toffees as Manchester United make the short trip to Merseyside. By this point in October, it is highly unlikely there would be any reason for the game not to go ahead.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Everton, October 16 - Expected to be played

Another visit to the capital. Everton lost 5-0 on their previous visit to this ground but were 1-0 winners back in 2020 thanks to a Calvert-Lewin goal.
