Everton have been handed a potential boost in their reported pursuit of Watford winger Ismaila Sarr after the Championship side sealed the signing of a Brazilian teenager.
The Hornets yesterday confirmed the arrival of 19-year-old forward Matheus Martins from Fluminenese, who previously provided Watford with Joao Pedro and Richarlison.
Martins' move could be good news for the Blues, with the Mirror suggesting it could well 'pave the way' for Sarr's exit at Vicarage Road. The Senegalese star has continued to be linked to clubs since joining Watford in 2019 and may now have the opportunity to secure a deal.

Everton are reported to be weighing up an offer worth £35million for Sarr, who is under contract at the second tier side until 2024. The 24-year-old was absent for Watford's recent draw with Hull City, though ex-Blues defender Slaven Bilic refused to go into detail about the player's situation.
The Hornets' boss told the Watford Observer : “I said what I had to say on Friday, and that’s enough. I don’t really want to say much more. We expected him back yesterday and I hoped he would be involved today.
“Of course, we miss Sarr. If had been here yesterday, of course, I would have played him. He didn’t come, he wasn’t at training yesterday, so he was out. From then on, I was totally concentrated on the game.
“I hoped he would be here, he wasn’t here, so that’s it. Of course, I expect him back this week. I expected him back even earlier. I know it is a very interesting story for the media, but I said what I said already. I don’t want to say anymore.”
