Jordan Pickford 5
Will be disappointed with how he allowed Daniel Podence’s close range effort to slip under his body for the equaliser but while he displayed sure hands to save from Hugo Bueno in the second half, he was left horribly exposed by his defenders for the last-gasp winner.
Nathan Patterson 5
A willing runner but caught napping for Wolves’ equaliser, his arm was raised rather than watching his marker, enabling Podence to get his shot in and he was later booked for a shove on him.
Vitalii Mykolenko 5
For over 90 minutes this was an impressive individual display from the Ukrainian on what proved to be a wretched day for his side who as well as being purposeful going forward, was strong in the tackle but ultimately when his team needed him found himself caught out of position for the winner.

Yerry Mina 7
Dream return to the side as he headed Everton ahead early on when left unmarked on a corner to head expertly past Jose Sa and while he marshalled things well at the back, his movement looked understandably rusty at times and he made way before the end.
James Tarkowski 6
Operating with a different centre-back partner, Everton’s defensive leader nevertheless produced a typically robust display, although he had to survive a couple of nervous moments when coming dangerously close to clipping opposition forwards and had to go towards Traore in the build-up for the winner.
Idrissa Gueye 7
Despite being very much the elder statesman among Everton’s midfield trio, the returning Senegal World Cup player looked their most mobile man in the middle and along with several galloping forays forward, his inch-perfect pass to Anthony Gordon in the first half should have been the assist to restore his side’s lead.
Amadou Onana 6
Withdrawn to a deeper position than prior to the World Cup break, the role enabled him to keep his shape more and there were still several tackles at full stretch and some probing cross-field passes but he just couldn’t get to Rayan Ait-Nouri in time as the Wolves sub snatched the points.
Alex Iwobi 6
Always offering an option to his team-mates, he tried to play his way into proceedings but needed to be dictating the tempo more in his central role.
Anthony Gordon 6
Aggressive – in the right way – and industrious, Everton’s home-grown hero was among the thick of the action but spurned a golden opportunity to restore his side’s lead when shooting tamely at Sa when picked out by Gueye.
Dwight McNeil 7
In from the start at the expense of Demarai Gray, he enjoyed a bright opening as his corner kick picked out Yerry Mina to head Everton into an early lead but producing a hard-working display down the left, he was hooked early in the second half.
Neal Maupay 6
Couldn’t find a way through despite all of his efforts, he would come deep for the ball at times and wasted a couple of decent chances with a poor first touch when chasing a pass over the top and firing too close to the keeper with a left foot effort from outside the area.
Demarai Gray (on 56 for McNeil) 6
Dropped to the bench before offering fresh legs in the second half and was just off target with a free-kick.
Ben Godfrey (on 76 for Mina) 6
Replaced goalscorer Mina for the latter stages.
Tom Cannon (on 83 for Maupay)
Rousing welcome for his late cameo.
Abdoulaye Doucoure (on 83 for Gueye)
Took the place of the hard-working Gueye.
