Asmir Begovic 7
After a relatively quiet first half, he was forced into action on several occasions after the break and had to be at his best, including one spectacular save to keep out a header from team-mate Welch.
Seamus Coleman 7
A first appearance this season from Everton’s fit-again captain, he marshalled the backline well in a central role that we might become more accustomed to seeing him in this term and proved a cool head as Fleetwood threatened after the break.
Reece Welch 6
Landmark night for the teenager as he started for the first time, this was a steep learning curve for him and while he looked assured on the ball, Fleetwood appeared to target his inexperience and he was fortune to avoid scoring an own goal when Begovic had to spectacularly tip away his attempted headed clearance.

Michael Keane 7
First outing of the season so far for the England international, he looked solid enough operating in between Coleman and Welch in the middle of Everton’s back three and was aerially dominant.
Nathan Patterson 8
An energetic display from one of only four players to keep his place from the weekend, the young wing-back was impressive at both ends of the pitch, lively going forward and making some strong challenges when needed at the back but he perhaps should have netted his first goal on the hour mark only to shoot straight at Jakub Stolarczyk.
Alex Iwobi 7
Tom Davies’ injury in the warm-up saw him put back into the central midfield role he’s been impressing in so far this season after initially being set for a switch to the wing but he got forward to smartly tee-up Gray for his goal with a well-placed low pass.
Amadou Onana 6
A bruising first start in English football for Everton’s biggest signing of the summer as Fleetwood kicked and harried him all night. He was floored on several occasions, including after challenges that brought bookings for Ged Garner and Danny Andrew but went close to netting a first goal when a second half header from a corner was deflected wide.
Ruben Vinagre 6
Another new signing starting for the first time, the wing-back got up and down the left flank to good effect but some of his attempted crosses were under-hit in a manner that appeared like he was using the sand wedge when requiring a driver.
Dwight McNeil 7
Lively display, the former Burnley man is still finding his feet in the Everton system but played his part in the goal as he picked up possession from Brendan Wiredu before finding Iwobi.
Salomon Rondon 6
At this stage of his career, the veteran Venezuelan seems unlikely to get any quicker but this was a hard-running display from him leading the line and such efforts almost paid off when closing down a Stolarczyk clearance while a couple of other shots were just off target.
Demarai Gray 7
Everton’s saviour again, he made the most of his late inclusion to coolly finish his big chance when it came his way, just as he’d done against Nottingham Forest three days earlier and looked lively throughout before being given a breather.
Lewis Warrington (on 64 for Patterson) 6
Solid debut from the Wirral youngster who did not look out of place.
James Tarkowski (on 64 for Welch) 7
Brought on to tighten things up as Fleetwood threatened after the break.
Stanley Mills (on 76 for Gray) 6
Lively cameo and might have even had a goal if a bit more composed with a late chance.
