Everton new stadium transformation continues as dressing room of future takes shape

The dressing room that will host the team talks, tactical debates and key personalities of Everton’s future is beginning to take shape.

Work around the home dressing room at the club’s new waterfront stadium has begun as the project moves forward. It will be based in the west stand of the complex, where the dividing walls are beginning to showcase the layout of the rooms.

It is part of a host of features within the wider development that are starting to transform the site as progress continues.

Work is also underway to clad the roof of the north stand, while at the south end of Everton Stadium the roof is now fully self-supporting. The roof is taking shape on both the east and west stands while the internal fit-out has begun in the east stand.

The latest progress comes amid news of discussions that will take place over when the club plans to move from Goodison Park to its new home. The site is expected to be completed during the 2024 calendar year but not necessarily in time for the 2024/25 season.

The ECHO understands that contractors Laing O’Rourke are working to a timetable that ends in December 2024 and as things stand, Everton are looking to be in a position to be able to depart Goodison Park by the turn of the calendar year going into 2025, with discussions around a mid-season move versus an end of season one expected to take place once appropriate.

Everton Fans’ Forum tweeted that a presentation given to the Everton Fan Advisory Board on Everton Stadium has been shared with them, and stated: “Progress on the build remains good but the club stressed completion is during 2024, not in time for (the start) of the 2024/25 season.” They added: “Discussions around a mid-season move versus an end of season move will be made if necessary once a completion date is known. Test events will be a requirement but it provides opportunities to engage fans.”
