Everton line-ups vs Boreham Wood as Nathan Patterson and midfield decisions made

Full-back changes with strong midfield

Chris Beesley: Midfield is the area of concern for Frank Lampard if the Everton manager is looking to shuffle his pack against Boreham Wood four days before the Premier League trip to Tottenham Hotspur.

Already an area where the Blues are short of available bodies, transfer deadline day signings Donny van de Beek and Dele Alli are both cup-tied along with other January recruit Anwar El Ghazi.

Therefore, as much as he might want to rest them, with the likes of Tyler Onyango and Tom Davies injured and Fabian Delph only just returning from his latest spell on the sidelines, I think Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure both have to start alongside Andre Gomes in a trio.

Lampard can switch things up in the wide areas though with new boys Vitalii Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson coming in at full-back - the latter for his debut.

It’s a similar story on the wings where the fit-again Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend come in while surely Salomon Rondon could have a goal in him against National League opposition.

My team (4-3-3): Pickford; Patterson, Mykolenko, Holgate, Keane; Allan, Gomes, Doucoure; Townsend, Gray, Rondon.

Changes at the back and two up top

Connor O'Neill: Changes could well be in order tonight at Goodison Park as Everton look to book their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

However, one player who could retain his position from Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City could be Jordan Pickford.

Despite the Blues having both Asmir Begovic and Andy Lonergan as back-ups, Lampard has already shown he isn’t in favour of rotating his goalkeeper for cup matches.

While at the back, Jarrad Branthwaite could well come in and partner Mason Holgate at the heart of Everton’s defence in place of Michael Keane.

Frank Lampard confirmed yesterday afternoon that Vitaliy Mykolenko is set to start tonight - and Nathan Patterson could also come in for Seamus Coleman.

While in midfield, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure could start in the middle, with Anthony Gordon one flank and Demarai Gray on the other.

And up top, Salomon Rondon could come in for his first start under Lampard to partner Richarlison.

My team (4-4-2): Pickford, Patterson, Branthwaite, Holgate, Mykolenko; Gordon, Allan, Doucoure, Gray; Rondon, Richarlison.
