Everton have four months to turn their Premier League season or risk relegation to the Championship come May.
Reinforcements are required if the Blues are to get their campaign back on track, but the club have already been dealt one transfer blow following news Arnaut Danjuma could be set to sign for Spurs after snubbing the Blues at the eleventh hour.
One player Everton continue to be linked with away from the Dutchman is Marseille attacker Bamba Dieng. A report from Sky Sports suggests Ligue 1 side Lorient are also in the race for the 22-year-old as they look to recruit Dieng in exchange for their star man Terem Moffi plus cash.

The Premier League is said to be the preference of Dieng, who starred for Senegal at the World Cup and scored seven Ligue 1 goals last season for his current employers. A separate report on the situation by French outlet Foot Mercato adds Everton are ‘ready to do anything’ to sign the Marseille forward after being dealt a major blow in their Danjuma pursuit.
Newcastle 'growing in confidence' over Gordon deal
Elsewhere, Newcastle are said to be increasingly confident of signing Anthony Gordon from Everton before the end of the transfer window.
The Magpies, alongside Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, registered interest in the 21-year-old during the summer, but failed to get a deal over the line. But Eddie Howe's side have now 'rekindled' plans to sign Gordon, according to the Telegraph, who state the Blues' No.10 is 'keen' on a move to St James' Park.
The report adds talks have 'intensified' since last weekend and it there is hope an agreement can be found after Newcastle's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg this evening, despite Everton's reported £60million valuation of the player.
