The Everton Fan Advisory Board’s chair says they are focussing on “strategic-level engagement with the current and future Everton board” after the three successful candidates in their 2023 election were confirmed.
Jazz Bal, chair of the Everton Fan Advisory Board, said: “I would like to thank all those who applied for these three positions this year. The standard of applications was extremely high, and the fans have now decided who they want to represent them on the Fan Advisory Board for the 2023/24 season.
“I'd also like to thank Ellen Louden and Frank McKenna for their assistance during shortlisting; and the Football Supporters' Association for their assistance in providing independent verification of the entire election process.
“The FAB is aware that progress was slow last year due to having to establish the background processes to become organised. But now we are positioned to focus on strategic-level engagement with the current and future EFC Board; and I'm sure these three newly elected FAB members will help us do just that.”

The election sought to identify candidates to fill the following three positions:
- One Evertonian who is a registered Football Supporters’ Association (FSA) member
- One Evertonian with a protected characteristic as defined in the Equality Act of 2010
- One Evertonian with no further eligibility requirements
The result of the election, which closed on Friday June 30, has now been independently verified by the FSA, with the three successful candidates being confirmed as:
- Julie Clarke
- Paul Rigby
- Paul McMonnies
Julie Clarke returns for a second term on the Fan Advisory Board, having been elected to the inaugural panel in 2022 and served as Secretary for the past year. She led the voting, taking 23.7% of the votes, and will now serve for the next three years in the role for an Evertonian with a protected characteristic, as defined by the Equality Act of 2010.
Paul Rigby will also serve for three years, in the role with no set eligibility requirement, after placing second with 16.4% of the votes cast.
Paul McMonnies (12.8%) finished fourth in the voting but, per election rules, is elected as the highest placing FSA member. The FSA seat is a reserved position and, as such, Paul will serve a one-year term.
Everton’s Fan Advisory Board was established in 2022 following the Government’s fan-led review of football as an independent body for in-depth consultation on short, medium, and long-term strategic matters. The successful candidates will join the Fan Advisory Board with immediate effect and the group’s next quarterly meeting with the club will take place later this summer.
