Everton may have got their first Premier League victory of the season at the weekend but they weren't the only Blues celebrating a win.
Defender Jarrad Branthwaite is currently on loan with Dutch club PSV Eindhoven and the 20-year-old was in the thick of the action for Rudd van Nistelrooy’s side against Feyenoord in the Klassiekier derby at the Philips Stadion.
Not only did he help the Boeren record a 4-3 home win that sent them to the top of Eredivisie, but he also scored PSV's first goal, drawing the sides level at 1-1 with a front-post finish following a corner.

Former PSV player Aad De Mos was impressed with Branthwaite and insisted that he cannot now be left out of the team. De Mos said: "It must never be taken out of the base again. He is very strong positionally. He can ensure that confidence returns to the PSV defence.”
Branthwaite has made four Eredivisie appearances so far, but two have been off the bench. He also made two substitute appearances in the Champions League qualification rounds against Monaco and Rangers.
Now having scored his first goal in Dutch football, the former Carlisle United youth prospect will be hopeful of pinning down a regular starting berth in PSV's first XI.
Branthwaite moved to Everton from Brunton Park in January 2020 for an undisclosed fee, but has so far found his opportunities at Goodison Park limited. PSV are currently tied with Ajax on 18 league points but sit above the Amsterdam club on goal difference.
