Everton 'could make move' for Serie A defender if Michael Keane departs

Everton could make a late move for Udinese defender Rodrigo Becao before the January transfer window closes, according to a report.

The Blues are still yet to formally announce Sean Dyche as their new manager, following the dismissal of Frank Lampard, or make much-needed additions to their relegation-threatened squad.

But Dyche's appointment is expected to be officially confirmed today while, according to the Mail, Everton want to sign a new forward, as anticipated, and possibly Becao, too.

Becao, who has long been linked with the Blues, has been plying his trade in Serie A since 2019 but could now find himself presented with the opportunity to make a move to the Premier League.

And the reports suggest that could happen if Dyche allows Michael Keane - who he previously worked with at Burnley - to leave. Keane is said to be interesting West Ham United.

The Mail report also claims that Everton are looking to quickly bring in another forward after Academy graduate Anthony Gordon completed a £40m plus add-ons move to Newcastle United yesterday.

The Blues have until the end of Tuesday to make any additions to their squad. They are currently 19th in the Premier League and only off the bottom of the table on goal difference.

Dyche's first game in charge takes place on Saturday when league-leaders Arsenal visit Goodison Park.
