Everton appear to be closing in on a deal to sign Burnley defender James Tarkowski, if recent reports are anything to go by.
The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the month and The Mirror claim central defence is a key area Lampard wishes to strengthen this summer. The report adds that the Blues are 'confident' a deal can be done, despite interest from Newcastle United, who can make any offer Everton make.
Amid financial difficulty, the Merseyside club will look to offload players on big wages this summer in order to free up space on the wage bill for new signings.

Everton are among the clubs to hold an interest in Montpellier striker Stephy Mavididi, reports suggest.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Blues, along with Premier League sides West Ham, Brighton, Southampton have all 'approached' the player's agent over a potential move. He adds any potential deal is in its 'early stages' but that the 24-year-old could be on the move this summer.
The Blues making a move would likely depend on the futures of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who have both been linked with numerous clubs in recent months.
Who?
Allan

What?
Another player that could move on in the coming weeks is midfielder Allan. The Brazil international has been linked with a return to Serie A to reunite with former manager Maurizio Sarri at Lazio.
Tutto Mercato Web reports that Sarri remains an admirer of the midfielder, but a move will only be possible if the player pushes for it.
Speaking on his future, Allan previously said to Corriere dello Sport (via FantaCalcio ): "I have respect for what is written but no signal has reached me. I think my professional destiny will remain unchanged. I’ll stay at Everton, as far as I know.
"I’m happy in England, I have the trust of a club I’m proud of, with impressive facilities and to which I owe respect."
