Everton are reportedly battling it out with Liverpool to sign Real Betis defensive midfielder Guido Rodriguez.
The 28-year-old joined the La Liga side in 2020 and has impressed in La Liga. Rodriguez has so far made 109 appearances for Los Verdiblancos, scoring thrice and assisting three across all competitions.
Amadou Onana, Idrisaa Gana Gueye and James Garner all came in during a hectic end to the summer window, but according to a report by Football Transfer Tavern, Everton are 'still looking' for a midfielder, and Rodriguez is one of interest to them.

However, the report also claims that as well as interest from Liverpool, Arsenal are also eyeing a move for the midfielder. Speaking about Rodriguez back in August, former Everton forward Kevin Campbell claimed that the 'brilliant' Argentine would be a success in the Premier League.
“I’m a big fan of his. He is a very good player. He is a brilliant midfielder who is combative, good on the ball, can play and is mobile,” he told Football Insider.
