New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick was completely dumbfounded with the way things were going for his team in the first half of Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Even with the Patriots feeling the pressure from a must-win situation, the Bengals strolled into Gillette Stadium and sprinted out in front to a 22-0 lead in the first two quarters.
As the points were piling on, the sideline cameras caught Belichick looking ahead at his team getting completely dismantled.
“What the [expletive],” Belichick seems to say, via Barstool Sports.
Those words pretty much encapsulate the entire season for the Patriots. A week after the embarrassing lateral blunder cost them against the Las Vegas Raiders, running back Rhamondre Stevenson fumbled in the red zone with a minute left in the fourth quarter, after the team scored 18 unanswered points in a comeback rally attempt.
The Patriots are now 7-8 on the season with hardly a prayer for a playoff berth.
