Eve Hewson has admitted having no idea if she could land a lead part in the hit series, Bad Sisters.
Bono’s girl was unsure if she’d have "any chance" to secure the part of Becka in the Irish dark comedy.
The Dubliner, 31, plays one of five Garvey sisters in Sharon Horgan’s comedy on Apple TV+, and was immediately excited when she first read the script.
"I read it and I was just like, 'oh s**t, this is good.' You know? This is really, really good."
But Eve had doubts about landing her dream role.
She told Awards Radar: "Knowing the way this business works, I just didn’t know if I had any chance."
But luckily the actress aced her audition.
"I was so thrilled," she said.
Speaking about her coming-of-age character, Eve continued: "I grew up with girls like this. I was that girl.
"I was raised by women like the Garvey girls, so it felt really true to my heart.
"Becka is kind of all over the place and a bit of a mad hatter.
"I’m not entirely like that, but my soul is like Becka."
The Dubliner continued: "I found it really challenging and difficult to open myself up and be that vulnerable."
Eve is a big fan of Sharon Horgan, who also plays eldest sister, also called Eve, in the series.
"She genuinely is cool. She’s just a cool woman. I don’t know how to describe it. She has that older sister energy, like you really want to impress her, and does she think you’re funny?
"When she laughs at your jokes, you’re like, 'she laughed at my joke!'
"She’s fantastic, and she’s just an absolute beast on set because she’s writing, acting, producing. She inspires me to do more."
Eve’s famous parents, Bono and Ali, were initially against their daughter going into acting, but they’re now very supportive – and Eve says she also gives her U2 lead singer father advice.
She previously said: "It’s more that I just ask him his opinion on many things rather than on one specific thing.
"We’re constantly giving each other advice, to be honest."
