Evangeline Lilly suffered a traumatic brain injury, now she’s helping others avoid astronomical healthcare costs

Evangeline Lilly, known for her roles in Lost and the MCU, is openly sharing the regimen recommended by her specialists to treat her traumatic brain injury. Lilly revealed in a post on Instagram that she has spent an astronomical amount of money seeking expert evaluation and targeted advice to heal her brain.

People reported that with healthcare costs rising and millions of Americans struggling with healthcare access, she is sharing her findings to help those who can’t afford it. The actress noted she considers herself one of the “extremely fortunate people in this country who can take care of my body the way it needs to be taken care of without money getting in the way of that.”

Lilly suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) last May. She had been dealing with spells of fainting since childhood, and during an episode at a beach, she fainted and fell face-first onto a boulder. Lilly was quick to provide a critical disclaimer, stating that she “I am not a doctor nor an authority on any of this,” and the advice she received was specific to her deficiencies, but she hoped her remedy could help anyone who is also “trying to heal.”

Treating injuries is really hard, and it is necessary to get good, precise advice

In the video, Lilly showed the various supplements recommended by her experts, when she took them, and, where possible, explained what they were for. This started with her morning routine of Creatine and a few others. She also included a funny disclaimer that she isn’t recommending specific brands because her son picked it out “from a kid at school.”

She then covered her lunch and dinner time supplements. Supplements like curcumin, which is a major anti-inflammatory agent, and Brain and Memory Power Boost. Lilly called this latter addition “the limousine of supplements for brain and rehab.”

Actors, like us, often get injured. While some injuries can just delay a schedule, some, like the injury Evangeline Lilly suffered, carry long-term consequences. She plans to continue this intense supplement schedule until she feels her brain has gotten what it needs. While she uses these for extra support, she maintains a fantastic overall philosophy.

She explained that she tries “really hard to eat well so that my food is my nutrients, not my supplements,” noting that she buys produce from a local farmer. It’s truly awesome that she’s sharing this valuable, expensive information freely to help others navigate the recovery process.
