Evan Ferguson has been seen leaving Brighton's Amex Stadium on crutches following a shocking tackle by Liverpool's Fabinho.
The 18-year old left the pitch after a lengthy period of treatment following a challenge by the Liverpool midfielder. The Brazilian was booked for the tackle but was arguably very lucky to stay on the field. Fabinho himself seemed disappointed with the challenge as he visibly shook his head and covered his mouth in shock.
Ireland fans will be hugely concerned for Evan's fitness considering the important Euro 2024 qualifier against France is just over a month away. He made his international debut against Norway back in November.

The Bettystown native has been in wonderful form for Brighton with three goals in his last four games. He almost scored in this tie but was denied by a goal-line clearance from Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi said of the challenge by Fabinho, "Fabinho, I'm sure, is an honest, correct player. On the pitch this can happen; this accident, this foul."
"We'll see in the next few days if it's an important injury"
Ferguson however will be able to take some solace from today's match as his side came from behind to beat Liverpool 2-1 and dump them out of the FA Cup. The winner was scored by Japan international Kaoru Mitomi.
