Evacuations have been ordered in three Florida counties along the state’s west coast as Hurricane Milton continues to strengthen, according to the Florida Division of Emergency Management.
In Manatee County, evacuation orders will be in effect at 2 p.m. on Monday for residents in zones known as Level A and Level B. These zones typically include those living on the water or immediately inland, as indicated on a county map. The evacuation order also applies to people residing in mobile homes or RVs.
For Pasco County, a mandatory evacuation order will take effect at 10 a.m. for residents in Zones A and B, which are generally located near the water. This order also includes individuals living in manufactured homes, mobile homes, RVs, and those in low-lying, flood-prone areas.
Additionally, a voluntary evacuation order will be in place in Pasco County at 10 a.m. for individuals in Zone C, residents designated as “Special Needs Residents,” and those who may be vulnerable in case of a power loss.
Pinellas County issued a mandatory evacuation order on Sunday for residential healthcare facilities in Zones A, B, and C.
