POP duo Eurythmics are set to reunite for a world tour next year, according to reports.
Scottish star Annie Lennox is allegedly set to perform again with Dave Stewart after they were reportedly offered a big-money deal from US promoters - with one source even claiming that a fresh album is not “off the table”.
This follows the duo putting on a rare performance when they were recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Insiders have estimated that a 40-date tour, which would be the first time the pair have performed on the road in more than 20 years, could gross £100 million.
A source for The Mirror said: “Eurythmics have been offered a huge amount to reform for a world tour.
“Seeing them perform together again at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has really stirred the interests of promoters who are throwing money at the band to hit the road again.
“Nothing is off the table, including a brand new studio album. It is very early days but everyone is excited to bring the project to life.”
Stewart recently admitted that his bandmate Lennox had “saved his life” while speaking about their romantic relationship which lasted three years in the late 1970s.
Speaking to mrfeelgood.com, Stewart said: “There have been moments actually where Annie has helped save my life.
“When I met her, and other times when I'd been in the hospital and, out of the blue, she was there holding my feet while I was going in and out of consciousness.
“So there's that stuff and the talking to each other, and the writing to each other, this is a constant thing.”
He went on to offer more detail on the health problems that Lennox had helped him get through.
He continued: “I'd had a major operation on my lung. I was really skinny.
“Trying to have that hope and you think you're falling down a well but clinging on because you saw a tiny bit of a ladder that said ‘hope’ on it, and then a bit more, and then climbing back out of the well again.”
While their relationship ended, the break-up never affected the pair’s work-life or friendship.
Stewart said: “Annie and I are the best of friends, and it has been 40 years.”
