BBC viewers have said Amanda Holden was 'thrown under the bus' by Eurovision Song Contest presenter Hannah Waddingham.
The Ted Lasso star is co-presenting this year's Eurovision alongside Alesha Dixon and Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina. The trio will host the two semi-finals with Graham Norton joining them for the grand final on Saturday, May 13.
Last night, the first live show kicked off and Hannah explained in French the voting rules for the semi-final.
She added: "You see Europe, some of us Brits do bother to learn another language."
Many who tuned in at home believe this was a dig at Amanda Holden who presented the votes for the UK during the Grand Final in 2021, writes The Echo.
Amanda famously said: "Bon soir. Goedenavond. That is 'good evening' in French and Dutch although I've got absolutely no idea which is which."
One Twitter user wrote: "Hannah Waddingham throwing Amanda Holden under Le bus, quality shade."
Another added: "Hannah Waddingham's French somewhat making up for the existence of Amanda Holden. Amazing start, Liverpool."
Whilst one penned: "Amanda Holden after being murdered by Hannah Waddingham."
Another wrote: "Hannah Waddingham throwing shade at Amanda Holden already?! I love her so much!!!"
"HANNAH WADDINGHAM SHADING AMANDA HOLDEN," another exclaimed while one added: "AMANDA HOLDEN SHADE ALREADY!"
