Eurovision presenters Alesha Dixon, Hannah Waddingham and Julia Sanina have set the stage for the contest being held in the UK on behalf of Ukraine, and fans were 'obsessed.' Just minutes in they were treated to a surprise rap from Alesha and Hanna speaking in French.
Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha presented the first semi-final of Eurovision Song Contest 2023 on BBC One alongside Ted Lasso and Game of Thrones star Hannah and Ukrainian musician Julia of rock band The Hardkiss.
Julia opened the event with her band following an emotional opening film entitled Welcome to Liverpool featuring a host of famous faces including the late Paul O'Grady. @partofthepride8 tweeted: "As a long time The Hardkiss fan from the UK, seeing Julia Sanina on British TV is absolutely insane."

They added: "I'm used to traveling to Ukraine or Poland to see The Hardkiss... I'm loving this!! Proud, emotional The Hardkiss fan moment!!"
Alesha and Julia looked impressed as Hannah spoke fluent French and then quipped: "See Europe, some of us Brits do bother to learn another language."
And Alesha floored fans as she sparked memories of her girl band Mis-Teeq days when she rapped about Eurovision. "Still got it. Love it," praised commentators Rylan Clark and Scott Mills.

Viewers also went wild when Bucks Fizz, who won the 1981 contest with Making Your Mind Up, made a guest appearance, and Mike Nolan asked Hannah for a hug. Fans were in awe as she agreed enthusiastically: "Oh my God Mike, of course you can hug me."
