With the countdown to this year’s Eurovision song contest underway, many people are asking the same question, who will take the crown?
Ireland’s entry is the bubbly 23-year-old Derry native Brooke Scullion with the song That’s Rich.
As Brooke takes the stage this Thursday in Turin Italy for the semi-final, the nation will be cheering her on but does she stand a chance of winning?

Ladbrokes are showing odds of 300/1 yet despite this the singer has plenty of support from home, with RTE host Marty Whelan saying “I think she is very good. And I tell you something as well, she is so different, and she is full of beans, which I love. She’s full of stuff.”
Despite Ireland's lacklustre performances over the last few years Brooke isn’t fazed in the slightest.
“Honestly, I am just so grateful to be here. You have to remember, I didn’t have a career before this and I still can’t believe I’ve managed to get this massive opportunity.”
According to Ladbrokes odds, it's the Ukrainian folk-rap group Kalush Orchestra with odds of 8/13 who could potentially take the win.
Their song Stefania is sure to stir up emotions as it is dedicated to one of the member's mothers.
The group's participation was called into question due to the ongoing war in their home country but they were given special dispensation to leave and compete.
Speaking to Sky News the leader of the collective, Oleg Psyuk made it clear how important victory is to them saying, “It would lift the spirit of our people.”
Another act to watch is the Italian duo Mahmood and BLANCO, showing promise with odds of 6/1 for their song Brividi.
Mahmood was previously runner up to the Netherlands back in 2019 with his entry Soldi.
With Italy’s winner last year Maneskin taking the world by storm the pair must be feeling the pressure to perform.
Maneskin took the win with their song Zitti e Buoni a rock anthem that translates to shut and behave.
The band have been unstoppable since, performing at the Coachella music festival last month in California.
In a turn of events from last year's disastrous null point moment, the UK is showing potential with odds of 6/1.
Their act is TikTok star Sam Ryder who found fame by posting covers of songs onto his account.
His song Space Man has given the UK new hope of breaking the tradition of finishing last in the past two years.
