Not only is Mae Muller representing the UK at Eurovision but the competition is being held in the UK, in Liverpool, putting a lot of pressure on Mae's shoulders - and some fans were left disappointed.
And with her performance - the final of 26 acts - followed by a routine from Sam Ryder, last year's UK entry and runner up, many felt she was upstaged by him.
After performing her song, I Wrote a Song, one fan said on Twitter: "Hannah waddingham (host) was a better contestant than mae muller and shes not even performing" and: "Yeah not a good song from us. Mae Muller clear not good at singing live."

Another added: "There's a locksmith in Liverpool frantically trying to find the key Mae Muller was singing in #Eurovision" And: "Absolutely love Mae but that was just lacking something. The audio level didn’t help unfortunately. #Eurovision". A fifth said: "Mae is HOT and I love the song. But the vocals weren't there for me. And as a Brit myself I hate saying that. I just hope it's not nil points."
Others compared her to Sam. One said: "i don't want to be mean but seeing sam ryder perform right after mae muller doesn't reflect well on her lol #eurovision." Another added: "Sam Ryder looks more like a superstar than ever when you put him on straight after that Mae Muller performance #Eurovision".
A third said: "Poor Mae Muller being completely upstaged by last year’s UK entry. Britain might have actually had a chance with Sam Ryder and Queen in the #Eurovision house".
