Eurovision fans praise Mae Muller performance for UK as others complain of 'sound' issues

UK Eurovision fans were cheering on singer Mae Muller as she closed the final with I Wrote A Song.

The London singer brought the curtain down on the 67th Eurovision Song Contest held in the UK on behalf of 2022 winners Ukraine.

Mae, 25, was flooded with congratulations following her performance of the Latin pop track.

@PlanetGregMusic tweeted: "I was SOOOOO proud of @maemuller_ she was INCREDIBLE." And BBC Radio One presenter Dean

McCullough shouted: "MAE MULLER PULLED IT OUT OF THE BAG!!!!!!!the vibes in the room omfgggggg." kieraneha applauded: "YOU WERE SO GOOD."

But other fans complained of 'sound' issues.@xnatalieclark tweeted: "Mae Muller was good but was her mic tuned in properly? Like you could hardly hear her."

@politePixie Mae Muller why does her vocal seem so low in the mix let us hear her." @Dave agreed:"Like a wee little mouse next to the music." And @marieineast complained: "Mae Muller we couldn't hear you."

Tens of millions across the world tuned in to watch 26 acts and bands take to the stage at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena as they performed their hearts out in a bid to be crowned the Eurovision 2023 winner and walk away with the coveted trophy.

The city is hosting on behalf of war-torn Ukraine, who won last year’s contest but are unable to host due to the Russian invasion. And the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest kicked off with a skit featuring last year’s winners Kalush Orchestra performing their hit Stefania with runner-up Sam Ryder playing guitar on the top of the Liver Building and Andrew Lloyd Webber on piano.

There was also a cameo from the Princess of Wales who made an appearance after she was recorded playing the piano earlier this month at Windsor Castle, Kensington Palace said. Viewers saw Kate playing a short instrumental piece lasting around 10 seconds.
