Eurovision fans have hit out after the UK's entry is set to perform last – with some claiming the placement is a 'fix'.
Mae Muller, 25, will perform I Wrote A Song last at the Eurovision finale, held in Liverpool this May, with many complaining over the draw.
Fans were not impressed when Mae's position in the draw was announced on the contest's official Twitter page, claiming the last spot is one of the toughest.
Others said they wanted the draw to have been streamed live, and suggested the result was 'rigged'.
One viewer said on Twitter: "26th not the best place to be, most people already have a favourite song by then."
Another said: "No video footage of the draw?? Sounds very sus."
A third wrote: "The draw should be live broadcasted. nobody believes this."
One fan wrote: "Definitely not rigged at all ……"
However others saw a positive side to the position. One said: "Is 26th the last performance? That’s class."
A second wrote: "UK last! Could be great for us." An excited fan said: "Closing the show [emoji faces with love heart eyes] let's go!"
Mae was announced as the UK's entry last week, and she has big boots to fill after Sam Ryder ensured the isles clinched the second spot last year, behind Ukraine.
The UK is hosting the spectacular due to Russia's ongoing invasion in Ukraine, and Liverpool beat other cities as the base for the competition, which will take place at the M&S Bank Arena.
Mae's catchy bop is about getting "revenge" on her ex-boyfriend, the singer has said.
"After you go through a breakup, whether it’s a relationship or friendship, when you’ve been hurt it’s really easy to want revenge," she said during a chat with Scott Mills for Meet The Act on BBC One.
"I thought, 'how can I take something negative and turn it into something positive that you want to sing and dance to'.
"I haven’t performed it yet and I am so excited."
Mae added she will be focused on vocal training and choreography until the special event arrives in Liverpool.
Singer Mae previously discussed the meaning behind her song on TikTok.
She said: "I was really annoyed at this guy. I wanted to do something crazy, maybe burn his house down, I don't know.
"But instead I took the high road and I wrote a song. And that's called growth, ladies and gentlemen."
The singer will be the first female entrant for the UK since SuRie competed in 2018 with Storm – coming in 24th place.
Like Sam, Mae is not new to the music industry, having released her debut single Close in 2018.
She has since been climbing the charts with the 2021 song Better Days after it went viral on TikTok.
The BBC hopes to repeat Sam Ryder's success at the 2022 event by once again joining with global management company TaP Music.
