The Eurovision Song Contest kicked off in the UK and within seconds there was a Royal cameo. Viewers were left gobsmacked when Kate Middleton appeared in the opening segment.
Musical Kate has appeared on TV playing the piano before and now she has just been featured in the Eurovision opening sequence playing the piano again in the pre-recorded clip. The opening of the show also included an appearance from Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Fans were left very surprised to see Kate make an appearance. One said: "Wow, Duchess Kate playing the piano #Eurovision2023" and: "AND KATE MIDDLETON PLAYING PIANO?! WHAT???"

Another said: "I did not have Princess Kate playing the piano to "Stefania" in my Bingo card..." And: "Amazing cameo from Kate, Princess of Wales #Eurovision". A fifth said: "Kate Middleton on piano is already the most iconic thing i’ve ever seen. #Eurovision".
At Christmas Kate showcased her musical skills when she played the piano at the Royal Christmas Concert.
Meanwhile. Mae Muller is representing the UK at Eurovision 2023 with her song I Wrote a Song. The 25-year-old singer and songwriter from London and pens honest, sassy pop music. She also supported Little Mix on their 2019 stadium tour. According to the official Eurovision site, in 2021, Mae scored a top 10 US hit with platinum-selling single Better Days with NEIKED and Polo G, which she performed on TV shows including Jimmy Fallon and The Voice US.
Mae was announced as the UK entry back in March, at the time she said: "I'm so excited to participate in Eurovision this year and represent the UK. I've loved watching Eurovision all my life, so to compete in such a massive music competition is simply brilliant. I’m a huge fan of so many of the artists that have found success at Eurovision, from ABBA to Måneskin."
