The Blue and Yellow Submarine Parade, part of the EuroFestival line-up, will kick off in the city centre tomorrow (May 5).
Liverpool is set to welcome a host of events and activities during the course of the much anticipated Eurovision Song Contest 2023. The popular song-writing extravaganza is a spectacle for the senses, with Liverpool playing host to the 67th edition on behalf of Ukraine, while the conflict remains ongoing.
Thousands of tourists are expected to arrive in the city to celebrate, and they’ll be spoiled by a smorgasbord of entertainment. One such event sure to delight the masses is the Blue and Yellow Submarine Parade, which has been produced by Invisible Wind Factory in partnership with The Kazimier.

The parade will see elaborate floats and submarine structures filled with colour changing lights venture throughout the city centre.
Taking centre stage on the vibrant designs will be a giant jellyfish puppet with glowing innards, a person sporting a large coral fan backpack, a disco ball pufferfish, and another person looking through the periscope of a submarine shell.
The Blue and Yellow Submarine Parade route
The parade will kick off at 6pm on Williamson Square, and will travel in a loop along Whitechapel, up Church Street and then along Basnett Street. It will head back to Williamson Square at approximately 7.45pm, for the grand finale.
Members of the public are encouraged to follow the parade and are urged to embrace the theme and dress in underwater fancy dress, should they wish.
Inspired by the 'United By Music' theme, the venture aims to symbolise the partnership between Liverpool and Ukraine, while celebrating the community, hundreds of performers, musicians and community groups involved, including LGBTQ+ groups, dance companies, asylum seekers as well as local organisations such as Katumba and Movema.
