Eurostar has cancelled a number of trains to and from London this week due to the scorching temperatures expected during the heatwave sweeping Europe.
Two services a day between London St Pancras International and Paris‘ Gare du Nord have been cancelled, with the train operator citing “adverse weather conditions”.
No trains have yet been cancelled on Friday, but this could change later in the week as temperatures rise even more.
The UK is set to high record temperatures for June this week, with highs of up to 38C expected.
That would shatter the previous hottest June temperature of 35.6C, set in Southampton in 1976.
Paris is due to be even hotter, with the French capital currently experiencing 37C temperatures and highs of more than 40C expected later this week.
A Eurostar statement said: “Due to expected adverse weather on the Eurostar network, your train is cancelled.
“We’re so sorry for the disruption and any inconvenience caused.”
Passengers who have been affected by the cancellations can move their booking to a later time and date, or claim a full refund.
