Bootle and England Lioness Alex Greenwood has been immortalised with a mural in the heart of her home town.
The 29-year-old Euro 2022 winner said she was "honoured" to have the 22ft mural commemorating her sporting successes painted onto the front of 320 Stanley Road. Alex, who has represented Bootle in the world of women’s football from an early age, came off the bench in the second half when the Lionesses beat Germany 2-1 at Wembley in July.
Liverpool artist John Culshaw, who is known for murals of Ringo Starr in Toxteth and Mo Salah in Anfield, was tasked with creating the mural, funded due to a joint venture by Sefton Council and REPT Sports.
