A blunt joke about Canadian tipping has added a lighter online angle to a major diplomatic development after the European Union proposed making Canada its first 'associate member'.

'If Canadians bring that fuck ass tipping culture with them, the deal is off,' Seán Bon Jovi, who posts as @LivingOn_aChair, wrote on X alongside European Union and Canadian flag emojis.
