NEW DELHI: The European Court of Justice (ECJ) on Thursday has ruled that actions taken by football governing bodies FIFA and UEFA to impede the creation of the Super League violated EU law.
The ECJ declared that the rules established by FIFA and UEFA requiring their prior approval for any new interclub football project, including the Super League, and prohibiting clubs and players from participating in such competitions, are unlawful.
