The Euro 2024 Golden Boot is still up in the air. A number of players are tied on three goals, with no obvious winner just yet at the tournament.
The award has previously been won by such luminaries of the game as Gerd Muller, Michel Platini, Marco van Basten, Alan Shearer and Cristiano Ronaldo. With the likes of Harry Kane and Dani Olmo still in the running, another top star could claim the honour along with the Henri Delaunay trophy itself.
There’s a very simple way it could be decided: if someone finishes the tournament with more goals than anyone else, they win the Euro 2024 Golden Boot. Easy. But what happens if there's a tie?

What happens if the Euro 2024 Golden Boot is a tie?
The Euro 2024 Golden Boot will be shared by any players who are level on the same number of goals. Currently, five are level on three.
This is an update that's come from UEFA mid-tournament. Previously, if multiple players ended a tournament with the same number of goals, the tiebreaker was deemed to be the player who had the most assists.
If there still wasn’t a clear winner, the player who played the fewest minutes was awarded the Golden Boot. Fernando Torres claimed the award in 2012 via that method, having appeared largely from the bench during that tournament to net three times.
So that means that Olmo and Kane – both on three goals – are in with a chance of getting the Golden Boot outright if either of them score tonight. They'll both share it if they both score in the final in Berlin.
If neither of the pair grabs their fourth of the tournament, the Golden Boot will be shared between six players, all on three goals. These six are Olmo, Kane, Cody Gakpo (Netherlands), Georges Mikautadze (Georgia), Jamal Musiala (Germany) and Ivan Schranz (Slovakia).
It goes without saying, by the way, that Jude Bellingham and Fabian Ruiz – on two goals apiece – can claim the Golden Boot outright with a brace tonight, or share it with just one goal. Dani Carvajal, Mikel Merino, Alvaro Morata, Rodri, Ferran Torres, Nico Williams, Lamine Yamal, Bukayo Saka or Ollie Watkins – all with one goal each – can win the Golden Boot outright if they score a hat-trick, or share it with two goals.
Any other player in either squad can share the award with a hat-trick, or win it outright, if they score four times. Unlikely, we know.
