England’s lacklustre draw with Slovenia on Tuesday night drew a peak television audience of 15.4million viewers.
The match was ITV’s biggest audience of Euro 2024 so far, with an average of 9.2m million viewers watching the full live and exclusive coverage from 6:45pm until 10:45pm.
The peak audience was also higher than both of England’s other matches at the Euros, which were broadcast on the BBC.
The Three Lions’ opening game against Serbia had a peak audience of 15m, while their second match with Denmark peaked at 13.1m.
England’s game with Slovenia, which ensured they finished top of Group C, drew huge numbers despite it being a 0-0 draw.
Across all viewing devices, an average audience of 14.5 million viewers watched the match on ITV. The Euros has been a huge success for the broadcaster, with the opening match between Germany and Scotland peaking at 10.5m viewers.
That made it the highest peaking audience for any opening match of a major tournament in a decade.
In total, since the Euros kicked off 12 days ago, ITVX - the broadcaster’s streaming platform - has had 170m streams and the 14 matches so far have been streamed 53 million times.
On Tuesday, the platform had 20m streams in a single day, its best since the 2022 World Cup and third best on record.
ITV will show live coverage of England’s next match on Sunday, with Gareth Southgate’s side currently on course to face the Netherlands in the last-16.
