With Euphoria season three back on our screens, the Euphoria makeup trend will undoubtedly return for a colourful, sparkly summer. Gaining momentum during lockdown, #EuphoriaMakeup had amassed over 3 billion impressions on TikTok. Lucky for us, the show’s makeup designer and department head, Donni Davy, has created her own make-up line to allow us to recreate the looks with ease.
Half Magic Beauty launched in 2022, named as such because you are half of the magic and the makeup is the other. Now that you can finally see and touch everything here at Sephora in the UK, I’ve curated an edit of where you should begin your journey with the brand.
What sets Half Magic Beauty apart from other makeup brands is that Davy has taken her expertise as a TV and film make-up artist and used it to create thoughtful products. These are formulas for the time-poor, offering dense pigment with just one swipe, and ease of use even for beginners.
“When I was working on the show, I would think of the products I wished I could use and set about making them. When you use Half Magic Beauty to recreate Euphoria makeup, you are quite literally using everything that they’re wearing,” she tells us. “I trained in art and photography, I wasn’t traditionally trained in makeup, so I don’t like anything that’s complicated to use. Everything from Half Magic Beauty has been made to remove those barriers, and make it simple and fun to use.”
From pressed glitter pigments to shimmer eye crayons, I’ve put the Half Magic Beauty range to the test to help you decide which products are worth buying.

How I tested

I’ve been buying Half Magic Beauty online from America since its inception in 2022 and spent the week assisting Half Magic Beauty founder, Donni Davy, when she came to the UK to launch the brand. The collection has been tested in every possible way, from a long day of commuting to the sweaty, grubby Glastonbury fields. As a make-up artist, I’ve also used the products in various looks for people of all ages, skin types and skin tones. Read more on how I tested the Half Magic make-up range below.

Half Magic Beauty glitterpuck pressed glitter

Best: Half Magic Beauty product overall
Product type: Pressed glitter
Shades: 4
Size: 8.5g
How to use: For best results, apply with your finger
Why we love it
- Can be used alone or on top of eye make-up
- Offers a dramatic high shine
- Available in four shades
Take note
- Keep the protective sponge that comes with your fresh jar – without it the product will lose its shape
Glitterpuck, the best Half Magic Beauty product I’ve tried, is a prime example of how Davy’s film and TV expertise led to innovative products. “Oil based formulas end up leaving a sheen on the glitter, which dulls the shine,” Davy explains. This formula is water based, so it feels wet to the touch, goes on dry, and offers a high-shine finish.

It comes in four shades, ranging from the universally flattering gold glimmer pop to the ethereal pinky turquoise, princess ghost. I love using this alone or as a high-shine topper for eyeshadow.

Half Magic Beauty glitterpill eye paint and eyeliner

Best: Half Magic Beauty fine glitter
Product type: Make-up glitter
Shades: 8
Size: 4ml
How to use: Apply directly to the skin using the precision tip applicator
Why we love it
- Water-based for maximum sparkle
- Easy to tailor for smaller details or fuller make-up looks
Take note
- Give this a good shake from time to time to keep the glitter and adhesive well mixed
The glitterpill colours are probably my most used product from Half Magic Beauty. These densely glittery gels come with a tiny applicator, perfect for adding a little trim of glitter to the lash lines or building a thicker, glittery finish over eyeshadow.

These are lovely as a whisper of glitter, something that pops ever so slightly when the light hits it but still subtle enough to look directly at. Even if you feel you’re a complete beginner, it gives such a light reflecting finish, you won’t notice where it begins and ends. My favourite way to wear the glitterpill is by itself as an eyeliner flick, with money plz and sweet prince being my most used shades.

Half Magic Beauty eyeshadow

Best: Half Magic Beauty eyeshadow
Product type: Pressed eyeshadow
Shades: 13
Size: 1g
How to use: Use a brush or your ring finger for multi-dimensional eye make-up
Why we love it
- Easy to apply using just your ring finger
- A one-swipe approach to glitter makeup
Take note
- Be careful with the paper foam casing, as it will break easily if you open it too strenuously
These Half Magic Beauty eyeshadow colours are great for anyone that wants to look like they’ve spent a lot of time on their make-up. You apply them just as you would a normal eyeshadow, either with your finger or a brush, in a wash of colour all over the eyelid.
On first glance they appear to be one colour, but when the light hits them they cast a sheen of another. The spongy lime green packaging is fully compostable, so when you’re finished with your shadow you simply recycle the metal plate it came in and plant the outer casing in soil. My most used shade is blushing lizard, a mauve taupe shade with blue reflects.

Half Magic Beauty iridescent face gems

Best: to enhance Euphoria make-up looks
Product type: Make-up gems, with medical grade adhesive
Size: 72 crystals (3 sizes)
How to use: Best applied with the adornment tweezers
Why we love it
- Adds texture
- Twinkles, even more so in a dimly lit environment
- Stick well
Take note
- The smaller sizes can be more fiddly, so start with the chunkier sizes to build your skill
For authentic Euphoria style make-up, the iridescent face gems are a must have. It’s amazing how much a tiny gem on your lower lash line, or a few gems in a liner shape on the outer corners of the eye can totally transform your makeup. What makes these stand apart from traditional craft gems is the colour. They’re a sophisticated iridescent mix, meaning that they match every eyeshadow shade or look beautiful when worn alone.

Formulated with medical grade adhesive, they will stick confidently for two wears (even when worn over foundation and other make-up). For every wear after that, I’d recommend adding some eyelash glue for extra reassurance.
Davy describes the smallest size of these as “tinie rhinies”, and they’re a signature staple in many a Euphoria makeup. The tiny size is super chic and adds an elevated touch of sparkle. Though any tweezers will work to apply these, I love the thicker hands of the brand’s adornment tweezers (£15, Sephora.co.uk) as they make the process less fiddly.

Half Magic Beauty sparklestik eye crayon

Best: Half Magic product for a frosted make-up look
Product type: Eyeshadow crayon
Shades: 10
Size: 1.3g
How to use: Apply straight from the crayon, and blend with a brush or your fingertips
Why we love it
- High shimmer options if you want ethereal makeup with no glitter
- Creamy and flattering, even on textured eyes with fine lines
- Blend easily
Take note
- Glitter shades may fade more quickly through the day than shimmer options
For many, a simple eyeshadow stick is the easiest way to add colour to your eyes. In lots of ways, these act in just the same way as every other eyeshadow crayon you’ve used before. They come in a rounded unit, complete with a twist-up rounded product head. What makes these different is that they offer more of a wash of colour, and lots of shades are more high shimmer than high glitter.

All of the Y2K trending makeup looks at the moment, with washes of frosty blue and lilac, would be easy to recreate using these. As far as cream colours go, these blend easily and genuinely don’t crease, which is quite rare.
If you want an eyeshadow sheen that doesn’t feel too overpowering, the lighter shades in these will be perfect for you. I go for these when I want a full make-up look that takes a short time to apply.

Half Magic Beauty chromaddiction eyeshadow paints

Best: Half Magic product for a bold make-up look
Product type: Eye paint and liner
Shades: 7
Size: 5.3ml
How to use: Apply straight from the applicator, and blend the edges if desired with a fluffier brush
Why we love it
- Comes in matte or shimmer finishes
- Sets for the day when it dries
Take note
- Not for those who prefer a softer glitter option
If bolder make-up looks are your thing, you’ll love the chromaddiction eyeshadow paints. Available in a matte or a shimmer finish, these are designed to be layered. You can use the matte shades to create a dense wash of colour. When these set they have a clay-like finish, setting dry and staying put until you remove them.

Then there are the glitters, formulated with glitter chunks in various sizes, meaning that when the light catches them the sparkle is more twinkly. If products tend to melt away or gather on you, these are the most reassuring pick of the range. ASMR is my favourite shimmer, and laviwinkle my favourite matte.

Half Magic Beauty magic flik liquid eyeliner

Best: Half Magic Beauty eyeliner
Product type: Calligraphy liquid eyeliner pen
Shades: 1
Size: 0.7ml
How to use: Apply straight to the eyelids
Why we love it
- Applicator can be used for thin or thick eyeliner looks
- Dries to a glossy black finish
- Waterproof
Take note
- Unique liner shape may take a while to get used to
If glitter isn’t your thing at all, there’s still plenty to enjoy at Half Magic Beauty. One of its more unusual innovations is the magic flik eyeliner pen, created with a large, oval-shaped paddle applicator. This can be used flat on its side or front to create a thinner or thicker eyeliner flick.

The slightly larger head allows for a less fiddly application, and would be great for anyone feeling less confident in creating eyeliner flicks. The finish is jet black and glossy. It took me some trial and error to get used to the shape of this, but now I find it helps me to do my flicks much more quickly.

Half Magic Beauty flik eraser makeup correcting pen

Best: Half Magic Beauty make-up corrector
Product type: Make-up correcting pen
Size: 0.7ml
How to use: Use along the eyes or lips to tidy any minor mistakes, sharpen edges, and create more graphic shapes
Why we love it
- Helps to manage any errors along the way
- Safe for sensitive skin
Take note
- Clean the tip to preserve the efficacy of the pen
One thing I love about Davy’s approach to make-up is that she thinks outside of the box a little. She was never traditionally trained in make-up and this, she feels, is her superpower.

“Your eyeliner game is only as good as your cleanup game,” she says, happy to admit that she always goes back in to tidy up her colourful looks. That’s why she created this micellar-water infused pen that you can use like an eraser to tidy up eyeliner flicks, eyeshadow shapes and lip lines.
I know you’ll be thinking ‘why can’t I just use a cotton bud?’, but in the long run this is far more sustainable, fast-acting and easier to carry for touch-ups on the go. I have incredibly sensitive, watery eyes and love that this doesn’t irritate them at all.

Half Magic Beauty magic drip glitter lip gloss

Best: Half Magic Beauty lip gloss
Product type: Lip gloss
Shades: 10
Size: 6.7ml
How to use: Straight from the applicator, on it’s own or over your favourite lipstick
Why we love it
- Non-sticky
- Very hydrating with no gritty finish
Take note
- Some of the shades are quite densely pigmented
If your lips are anywhere near as dry as mine, the thought of putting glitter on them might strike fear into your heart. Luckily, this rich, glossy formula gives all of the high shine without any grit or discomfort. Use these alone for a juicy, glittery lip finish, or layer over your favourite lipstick to give a three dimensional finish.

When Euphoria season three airs, these will be some of the most recognisable shades you see in each episode. Y2K cherub is a bubblegum pink that gives a nostalgic look, flattering on all skin tones.

Half Magic Beauty beam trap illuminating balm

Best: Half Magic Beauty product for cheeks
Product type: Cream highlighter
Shades: 1
Size: 3.3g
How to use: Press into the skin on the cheekbones, brow bones, temples
Why we love it
- Sits in a flattering way, even on textured skin
- Doesn’t accentuate minor imperfections
- Gives the skin a healthy looking sheen
Take note
- You may find that you use one half of this more than the other
Though Davy rose to mainstream fame after her Euphoria looks took the internet by storm, her artistry legacy had been established long before the show. Known for her fresh, natural looking skin, Davy wanted to bottle her glow, and did so in the beam trap illuminating balm.

This buttery formula can be pressed onto the skin to give a glow without any shimmer or glitter, simply giving the skin a plump, healthy look. This pan comes with a golden and copper layer, and each can be used alone or mixed together.
For best results apply this with your fingertips onto the cheekbones, browbones, temples, or anywhere that you want a cherub-like glow. I like that this doesn’t exacerbate any texture from my rosacea.

What are the best Half Magic Beauty products?
Ultimately, Davy has demystified complicated make-up with these easy to use, long-wearing formulas. All of the Pinterest make-up looks you have saved, with no idea where to begin recreating them, can be achieved in a handful of steps using these products. Whatever look you are hoping to achieve, the glitterpuck is a fantastic place to start with its long lasting, high shine finish. The jar is so large that one pot will last an incredibly long time – after weekly, sometimes daily use, my original pot is still going very strong some two years down the line.
