So long, stinky robot mops: Eufy's new Omni S2 has in-built fragrance canisters to leave your home looking and smelling fresh

Eufy Omni S2 robot vacuum.

There are a lot of things that I love about my robot vacuum, with the key one being that I barely have to do anything for it to clean my floors. Currently, there are only a few things I hate about it, with the biggest being that awful smell that it releases into my kitchen once its dirty water tank has been sitting there for a day or two.

You know the smell I am talking about — stagnant water mixed with dust. To call it room clearing would be an understatement, as even my dog knows to leave the kitchen when this smell fills the air. It does give my air purifier a good run for its money, though.

With this in mind, I thought that this new launch from Eufy had quite literally read my mind. As it turns out, this isn't just a me problem, and for that I am thankful. Launched to the market at CES 2026 is a brand new vacuum cleaner that works to reduce 99.99% of germs in its tank, to banish those powerfully bad odors once and for all. The Omni S2 intelligently works to generate a solution that's a blend of hypochlorous acid and ozone water in its tank, meaning it won't smell. Genius!

It also has 3 built-in air fresheners in its machine, so that it emits a pleasant fresh fragrance each time it cleans your floors. In other words, I can now stop moaning about the things I hate about my robot vacuum cleaner.

For a fresher clean

Simply put, inside this vacuum's UniClean Station 2.0 is where the true magic happens. This is where the vacuum goes to empty its dustbin, refill, and ditch its dirty tank water. This base can also clean and dry the mop pads, all while charging the machine's battery as it dries.

It's inside this charging base that a hypochlorous acid and ozonewater solution is generated. This special solution sits in the water tank, and when mixed with tap water, it will kill 99.99% of the pathogens that ooze these odors into the air. Not only will this drastically reduce the nasty smell coming from your charging base, but this will also ensure that your floors are cleaner than ever.

You'll also find an aromatherapy station in the base, which cycles through 3 fragrances — Citrus and Basil, Bamboo and Sage, and Bergamot and Lychee. It emits one of these smells into your home while cleaning. Double win.

For me, these new features are a total game-changer as I use my robot vacuum cleaner every single evening to clear up the day's messes. I'm forever forgetting to empty its water tank unless it's screaming at me on the app, despite telling myself repeatedly that I need to do it and only remembering once my head hits the pillow at night. This also means I won't be running around with my air freshener after each time it empties its tank, too. Or opening the windows and letting cold air in to reduce the stink.

What else is new?

With the aromatherapy side being one of the key new features of this 2026 robot vacuum, there are other new features added to the Omni S2 that we deem to be somewhat impressive.

Not only does it use AI to identify different floor types in your home and to map the layout of your rooms, but it can give your floors a really good scrub thanks to Eufy's HydroJet mopping technology. This technology ensures that the vacuum's rollers self-clean 6 times per second, so that you're never cleaning your floors with a dirty brush. Even better, 30kPa AeroTurbo suction means it will get really deep into your carpets, to rid them of dust and debris. It actually boasts 3.3lbs of downwards pressure in each sweep, to deep clean hard floors as if it were a human doing the job.

The addition of CleanMind AI technology means this machine does everything automatically — it examines your floors and adjusts its mode, suction, scrubbing level, and wheel height (up to 5cm), to ensure it offers an exceptional clean on all types of floors.

It will also work intelligently to avoid things like curtains, cords, and even toys (from the kids or the dog), to avoid getting itself in a rut and needing your help. It can register messes and distinguish between a dollop of ketchup on the floor and muddy footsteps, with it working out the smartest way to clean each stain it faces.

Availability

The pre-sale for this Eufy robot vacuum starts on January 6, and for the launch, it will have $200 off its MSRP. Full release is set to happen on January 20, with a price tag of $1599.99 / £1,599 on eufy.com and Amazon.
