Women whose ovarian cancer keeps coming back after several rounds of treatment rarely hear encouraging survival numbers. New three-year follow-up from a small, early-stage trial offers one, with important limits attached. An estimated 48% of patients treated with an experimental pair of immunotherapy drugs were alive three years after starting treatment, the same estimate researchers reported at the two-year mark.
The results come from the ovarian cancer group of the phase 1b C-800-01 trial, which tested botensilimab together with balstilimab. The data were presented on October 3 at the International Gynecologic Cancer Society's 2026 Annual Global Meeting in Montréal, Canada, according to drug developer Agenus. Only 35 patients were included in the effectiveness analysis; the study had no comparison group, and neither drug is approved by the FDA.
