Every area has their own dialect, and terms that may bewilder those not from the town or city.
St Helens is no exception, with many streets and estates given slang names that could leave non-Sintellinsers scratching their heads. For example: "The Trees Estate " in Newton-le-Willows, is comprised of streets named almost completely after trees, such as Oak Avenue, Acorn Street, Ivy Avenue.
The ECHO asked for your ideas on unique names for estates in St Helens that you have grown up with.

Cement City/Parr
A popular suggestion was the name given to the township of Parr, "Cement City."
Ethel Haggerty said: "Cement City, Concrete Canyon, just a few names for the miners estate in Parr."
Joe Pepper added: "Cement City for Parr."
The nickname Cement City dates back to the area's rich mining history, with St Helens building much of its industry from coal mining, being well placed on the South Lancashire coalfield. Due to amount of miners needed, concrete blocks of flats were built to house workers- spawning the moniker Cement City.
Much of the peddle dash developments which earned Parr the nickname were built in the 1960s.
Little Liverpool
John Madden said: "Chain Lane/Laffak estate was called Little Liverpool because of all the Scousers that moved there."
The area is home to the Starting Gate pub, which is a popular spot for those living on the estate, home to many people who came from more central parts of Liverpool in the 1970s and 1980s.
Trees Estate
This one is more self explanatory, the streets bordering Mesnes Park in Newton-le-Willows are all named after trees and foliage, with names like Oak Avenue, Holly Avenue and Poplar Avenue, hence the estate has been almost always referred to as the Trees Estate.
Gillian Crosby said: "Trees Estate was my community group’s name for our estate as all the streets are trees such as Oak Avenue, Acorn Street, Cedar Close etc. I don’t think we really had a name before that."
Local band The K's even named a song Trees Estate, with band members growing up around the area- some of the lyrics reflect life growing up on the estate.
Poet Estate
Raymond Price said: "All poet's names off Forest Road, Sutton Manor."
In the estate just off Forest Road in Sutton Manor, streets are adorned with the names of famous poets- such as Tennyson Street- named after Alfred Tennyson, who was the poet laureate for many years in the 19th century. Other streets include Milton Street, named after 17th century poet John Milton.
