Driver of Essex train saw ‘kink’ in the track before it derailed at 77mph

A train driver travelling at 77mph had reported seeing a "kink" in the rails shortly before a derailment in Essex, an investigation has found.

The Greater Anglia service was carrying an estimated 62 passengers towards London Liverpool Street when it derailed just south of Wickford station on August 14.
