For the most part, the New York Jets have been one of the NFL’s consistently worst teams. New York has just six winning seasons in the 21st century and is still feeling the effects of the fallout of former top pick Zach Wilson being a massive bust.
So, we’d understand if the Jets and their fans were a little desperate to get Aaron Rodgers wearing their uniform. While he’s an exhausting source of drama, Rodgers remains one of the best quarterbacks ever to play. Even at 39, he probably still has something left in the tank, too.
But ESPN’s Mike Greenberg — a noted Jets fan — took it a step further earlier this week. He discussed how he’d react to the Jets pulling off a blockbuster trade for the Hall of Fame QB on his radio show, Greeny. If Rodgers comes to New York, Greenberg suggested he’d potentially either do a now-infamous “darkness retreat” or … remove a toe.
And if he did actually detach a toe, Greenberg seemed open to the idea that the loss wouldn’t be noticeable. Wait, what was that last part???
If @AaronRodgers12 joins the @nyjets…@Espngreeny has said he will either do a darkness retreat or remove a toe.
This begs the question, how long would it take you to notice that your pinky toe was missing if you didn't know it was removed? #Greeny@BubbaTheGlue | @campratt14 pic.twitter.com/vrxoPhI6uo

Okay, okay, okay. Everyone, take a deep breath.
I know Greenberg (and likely many others Jets fans) really want Aaron Rodgers slinging touchdowns for their team. I get it. It’s not fun being a Jets fan, sure, sure.
But, to address the elephant in the room: you’d definitely notice a missing toe! Your body parts are attached in their according place for a good reason! You need them, and you need them where they currently sit!
Greenberg and the rest of Gang Green seem likely to get their wish for Rodgers anyway. So, please: don’t consider removing any body parts for a silly sports trade, let alone any of your toes.
