ESPN just locked in one of its big names for a couple more years.
Hall of Fame NBA play-by-play commentator Mike Breen just received an additional two-year contract extension from ESPN, according to a report by the New York Post. The report said that the two years will be added onto his current deal, which already had two NBA seasons left on it.
That should lock Breen into his deal with ESPN until the end of the 2027-28 NBA season.

Breen has been with ESPN as an NBA commentator since 2003. He's called 18 NBA Finals for ESPN and ABC, and last season's series-clinching Game 5 win by the Denver Nuggets over the Miami Heat was the 100th NBA Finals game Breen called.
He also works as the play-by-play announcer for the New York Knicks on the MSG Network.

But his extension comes despite a massive change in the team around him, which serves as ESPN's top broadcasting trio. Breen had called 15 seasons alongside both Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy, and the two were both let go as part of the mass layoffs of ESPN in the summer.
Former NBA Coach of the Year Doc Rivers and Hall of Famer Doris Burke have since joined Breen in the booth to start the 2023-24 NBA season.
River said in a media conference call on Oct. 20 that he considers Breen one of his "best friends for over 20 years."
