ESPN FPI gives Browns a coin flip chance to make playoffs

Sitting at 4-3 on the season, the Cleveland Browns blew a great chance to steal a win on the road against the Seattle Seahawks. They now turn the page to the Josh Dobbs-less Arizona Cardinals looking to grab their fifth win of the season. As we approach the midway point in the season, where do the playoff chances of the Browns currently sit?

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, they project the Browns have a 49 percent chance to make the playoffs as we sit in Week 9. This is down from 51 percent after their win against the San Francisco 49ers just three weeks ago. All in all, the Browns could flip a coin as to whether they will make the playoffs or not right now.

A win against the Cardinals, then a strong showing against AFC North foes over the next two weeks afterward would boost that number. Getting their starting quarterback back on the field would also help.
