ESPN Closing in on Deal With Four-Time NBA Champion General Manager, per Report

Just a couple months after former Warriors general manager Bob Myers announced he’d be leaving the role after 12 years, he is reportedly set to begin his career in broadcasting.

ESPN is closing in on a deal with Myers to join the network’s NBA Countdown show, per New York Post’s Ryan Glasspiegel. ESPN has yet to confirm the report.

This news comes just a day after the New York Post’s Andrew Marchand reported that Malika Andrews is set to replace Mike Greenberg as the host of the NBA finals this upcoming season. Greenberg is still expected to host NBA Countdown.

While this will be Myers’s first big gig on television, this won’t be his first experience in the NBA media realm. Last season, he hosted a podcast called Lead By Example, which was produced by Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions and used through ESPN.

Myers left his role with the Warriors back in May stating it was “just time” to move on from the job. During his tenure with the franchise, Golden State—led by the trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green—won four NBA championships.
