As the NBA Playoffs roar on, the Chicago Bulls are watching from the sidelines. Their season ended in the Play-In Tournament at the hands of the Miami Heat, who are now in the Eastern Conference finals. They have some very tough decisions to make this summer if they hope to compete for a championship anytime soon.
The last time the Bulls appeared in the NBA Finals was in 1998—the Last Dance. Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen brought home their sixth championship in eight years, cementing the former of the two as one of the greatest players in NBA history. Most Bulls fans would love to go back to those days, and luckily for them, that’s exactly what ESPN’s Max Kellerman did.
On a recent edition of ESPN’s “This Just In,” Kellerman ranked Jordan’s top five playoff performances. So, as Bulls fans are forced to watch the remaining teams in this year’s playoffs compete for a title, at least they can look back fondly on the good old days.
Jordan made the playoffs in 13 of his 15 NBA seasons, reaching the NBA Finals in six of them and winning all six.
Alongside ESPN analyst and former NBA player Kendrick Perkins, Kellerman went through his favorite Jordan performances.
Included on his list were Jordan’s flu game, Jordan dropping 63 points in a loss to Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics, Jordan switching hands on a layup against the Los Angeles Lakers, Jordan’s shrug in the 1992 NBA Finals, and Jordan’s game-winner in the 1996 NBA Finals.
