Former Ohio State Football quarterback C.J. Stroud not only set a Buckeye NFL record on Sunday, he’s impressed plenty of analysts as well.
Stroud threw for 384 yards and two touchdowns, the the most yardage every by a former Ohio State quarterback. To put that in perspective, another former first round pick, Justin Fields, has 27 starts under his belt and still hasn’t throw for over 300 yards.
Buy Buckeyes TicketsThe performance by the rookie was enough to get the attention ESPN’s Matt Miller, who proclaimed that Stroud was the best rookie quarterback and it’s “not even close, IMO.”
In two starts, Stroud has completed 59 of his 91 attempts for 626 yards and two scores. Even though he hasn’t led the Houston Texans to a win, it’s looking like they have found their franchise quarterback.
CJ Stroud. Not even close, IMO https://t.co/PExUZlZZZP

We’ll continue to follow Stroud as he gets his feet wet in the NFL and hopefully puts an end to the narrative about a Buckeye quarterback curse at the game’s highest level.
