The Erskine Bridge has been closed in both directions amid concern for a person.
Traffic Scotland confirmed news of the initial closure — on the southbound carriage — at 6:45pm this evening. They subsequently confirmed the closure of the northbound carriage a short time later.
Road users are being advised to approach with caution and expect delays as a result of the closure.

An alert on the Traffic Scotland website reads: "The Esrkine Bridge is closed in both directions due to a police incident. Road users should approach with caution and expect delays.
Traffic information site INRIX also issued an alert which read: "A898 Erskine Bridge in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to police incident between A82 Great Western Road (Old Kilpatrick) and M898 J1 (Erskine, Erskine Hospital)."
Police confirmed to Glasgow Live that the closure is in respect to concern for a person.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Officers were called to reports of concern for a person on Erskine Bridge at around 6.40pm on Wednesday, 4 May, 2022.
“The road and footpath of the bridge are closed and officers remain at the scene.”
UPDATE: The bridge has now fully reopened to traffic.
