Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has reportedly decided to join Manchester City this summer despite strong interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid.
The striking sensation is set to be available for just £63 million this summer with a plethora of Europe's footballing elite clamouring for his signature and, according to MailOnline, City have won the race.
Haaland has scored 23 goals in 20 appearances for Dortmund this season and provided a further six assists, taking his total at the club to 80 goals and 21 assists in just 79 matches.
Reports last summer had indicated that the 21-year-old was eager to join Chelsea but a deal with Dortmund did not come to fruition.
In an interview with Sporting Bild in 2021, Thomas Tuchel claimed that he would have no problem using Haaland in a front-two with Romelu Lukaku.
"We have talked about Haaland a couple of times also in the transfer window. It looked unrealistic and not possible to do," he said
"Of course we talk regularly about him because he is a fantastic player and a profile at Dortmund, which is a big rival for us in the Champions League."
When asked whether he could be used alongside Lukaku, Tuchel replied "no problem," a comment he later insisted was meant as a joke.
Haaland now looks set to follow in his dad's footsteps and join Manchester City, with Alfe Inge Haaland having played for the club from 2000 to 2003.
The report reveals that the final outlay necessary to land Haaland will be closer to £100 million, with a signing on bonus and fee for agent Mino Railoa taking the £63 million transfer significantly higher.
This is not expected to be an issue for City, however, who were willing to pay in excess of £100 million for Harry Kane last summer.
