Erling Haaland extraordinary £30m transfer claim as Celtic teenager 'eyed' by Liverpool

The January transfer window is currently open for business, with Liverpool currently 12 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City in the table.

Liverpool return to action this afternoon when they take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park - and their recruitment team may have targets in their minds going into the January transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp had a relatively quiet summer, with Ibrahima Konate, a deal agreed before the end of May, the only major acquisition at Anfield.

Could there be more Liverpool moves on the way in the January sales? Here’s a round-up of some of the latest speculation from around the web on the tittle-tattle trail.

ESPN.

What?

According to the report, the forward wants wages of £30million-a-year from whichever club he joins.

Speaking last week, Haaland revealed that Dortmund are pushing him to make a decision over his future and hinted he could decide his next move in the coming weeks.

Haaland has netted 80 goals in 79 games for Dortmund since joining them in the 2020 January transfer window from Red Bull Salzburg.

That impressive form has resulted in the forward being linked with a host of top clubs around Europe, including Liverpool.

The Norway international has also been linked with moves to Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United over the past year.

Who?

Liverpool striker Divock Origi.

Italian news outlet Tuttosport via TEAMtalk.

What?

Fiorentina are reportedly considering a move for the Liverpool forward if Dusan Vlahovic departs this month.

Vlahovic has been heavily linked with a move away from Florence, with Arsenal the reported likely destination and, according to the Italian news outlet , the Serie A side's list of possible replacements includes the Belgium international.

Origi, who has five goals in 10 appearances this season, has been out with a knee injury since scoring the winner in the final Champions League group game at AC Milan on December 7.

The 26-year-old's contract is up in the summer, although Liverpool can trigger an option for an additional year between now and the end of the season.

The ECHO also understands that Origi has not asked to leave the club this month and Klopp expects the Belgian to stay put until the end of the campaign at the earliest.

Who?

Celtic youngster Ben Doak.

Where?

Daily Record.

What?

According to the report, Liverpool 'want' to sign the Celtic youngster.

Doak has yet to sign professional terms with Celtic and Liverpool are reportedly keen to see if they can sign the 16-year-old on training compensation, according to the Daily Record.

The teenager defender has been a regular starter for the Hoops' under-18s side this season, and the Scottish Premiership side are said to be 'trying to convince' him to remain at the club.
