Manchester City return to Premier League action for the first time since the World Cup as they take on Leeds United at Elland Road on Wednesday night
Pep Guardiola's side will be looking to leapfrog second-placed Newcastle with a win against Leeds as they attempt to close the gap to league leaders Arsenal. The Gunners' 3-1 win against West Ham on Boxing Day means that City are now eight points adrift of the North London side - albeit with a game in hand.
Guardiola will know how vital it is that his team hit the ground running after the enforced winter break, with the Blues looking to build upon their thrilling Carabao Cup win over Liverpool last week.

With more than a month having passed between the defeat to Brentford and the clash against Leeds, Guardiola has a number of choices to make when picking his starting XI for tonight.
This is how City's fans want the Blues to line up this afternoon, as MEN Sport has taken a closer look at what they have voted for using our interactive widget ( see below ).
In goal, supporters want Ederson to start between the sticks as the Brazilian looks to keep his seventh clean sheet of the season.
Fans have called for Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo to line up as full-backs against Leeds, with John Stones and Aymeric Laporte forming the centre-back pairing. The Spaniard would be the only member of the defence to keep his place from the 3-2 win against Liverpool.
A familiar trio of Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Kevin de Bruyne is how supporters want Guardiola's midfield to take shape. Should the Catalan manager oblige with the fans' request then it would see Ilkay Gundogan drop to the bench after the EFL cup victory.
In attack, fans have called for Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden to play either side of Erling Haaland against Jesse Marsch's side. The Norwegian will be looking to build upon his jaw-dropping tally of 18 Premier League goals already this campaign.
Starting line-up City fans want to see vs Leeds: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Cancelo; Rodri, Silva, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Haaland, Foden.
