The final days of Erin Piacenti’s life were filled with some of the moments many new parents treasure most. She had spent time with her daughter, celebrated her baby's baptism, travelled with her husband for the celebration of their second wedding anniversary.

Then, in a matter of moments, her life was cut short in a random stabbing in New York City’s Times Square.
Piacenti, a 32-year-old Bank of America vice president from Chester, New Jersey, was fatally stabbed Monday afternoon. She had recently returned to work following maternity leave. Her death has left behind a young family and shocked colleagues at Bank of America and Fordham Law School, where she earned her law degree.

Her LinkedIn profile identified her as a vice president working in the bank’s business selection and conflicts unit.
