Former Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham has told Erik ten Hag he still has a "massive job on his hands" before admitting that the club need to cash in on out of favour Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Ten Hag has led his side on a run of eight games unbeaten across all competitions, as he looks to extend the streak against Real Sociedad in the Europa League. Following their 1-0 defeat to Thursday night's opponents earlier this season, United need to win by at least two goals to surpass the Spanish side and top the group.
The first-placed team will receive a bye past the next round, avoiding a play-off fixture with a third-placed side from the Champions League in February. In an already congested season, this could be crucial for the Reds later in the campaign.

Despite the difficult tie ahead of them, United travel to Spain as favourites, with the team gathering momentum under Ten Hag in recent weeks. However, Sheringham feels as if there is still a long way to go before the Reds will see any long-term stability under their new manager.
Speaking to OLBG, he said: "Erik ten Hag still has a massive job on his hands. Things go one way, then go another. That’s how it’s going to be until he lays down his foundation.
"With that in mind, I don’t think United have a chance to win the league, but they have shown good signs recently, there was a bit of a struggle to get over the line against West Ham, but they did anyway. Top-four is a real chance for United."
The former Spurs forward also told the club to cash in on Wan-Bissaka, who has played second fiddle to Diogo Dalot this season.
Sheringham said: "If Manchester United can get money for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, they should do a deal. He’s fallen out of favour and has had a tough time coming into Manchester United in a tough period. It didn’t look like they worked on improving the back four and defensive unit since he’s been there."
