The Red Devils are still searching for a permanent successor to interim boss Ralf Rangnick, who has already expressed his admiration for the work Erik ten Hag has done at Ajax since 2017. The Dutchman is one of the two outstanding candidates for the Old Trafford hot seat alongside under-fire Paris Saint-Germain gaffer Mauricio Pochettino and is even ready to answer the club's SOS call.
Pochettino remains the favourite for the United job, as revealed last month, with the Old Trafford hierarchy confident of landing their man. That revelation was later fleshed out by Mirror Football reporting that the Argentine was the preferred candidate among the players in United's dressing room.
However, the situation remains fluid and Ten Hag is still an outstanding candidate for the role due to the job he has carried out at Ajax. Ten Hag is seemingly open to taking the position at Old Trafford, is attainable should the club be committed to him, and commands a high level of English.
